Now more than ever, it is essential for Ontario to have a strategy and dedicated funding for Remote Patient Management in dialysis so we can protect our most vulnerable and get them the treatment they require, when they need it and where they need it.

Keeping Ontario’s Dialysis Patients Safe, at Home

New technologies are available to keep our most vulnerable patients in Ontario comfortable and safe, while reducing healthcare system pressure and costs.

More than 12,000 Ontarians are living with advanced chronic kidney disease requiring dialysis.
A dedicated strategy to improve access to Remote Patient Management technology for all Ontarians living with chronic kidney disease would help improve lives, reduce the burden on overcrowded hospitals, and provide long-term cost savings to the healthcare system.

Remote Patient Management in dialysis is made possible by technology that provides remote access to real-time data on patient therapy in-home, allowing clinicians to securely view related treatment data.

Healthcare providers can use the treatment data to remotely adjust their patients’ home device settings, allowing patients to receive personalized and optimal treatment safely.
